Overview
Autoplay Stopper is a free Chrome extension (Manifest V3) that stops HTML5 video and audio from playing on their own. Media starts only when you click play.
It also catches media added later by scripts and players inside iframes and Shadow DOM, can block muted autoplay, and pauses videos that a site unmutes without your click. You can toggle it per site, choose allowlist or blocklist mode, and import or export your settings.
No data collection, no analytics, no ads, no remote code. Settings are stored only in your browser.
