Overview

ReadyTab replaces the new tab in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Brave with boards of links, notes and tools. One person can host a board for a team: everyone else installs the free extension, joins with a token, and sees the board in their own new tab, updated whenever the owner changes it. The owner hands out named edit keys and can revoke each one. The same board can be published as a read-only web page for people without the extension. For personal use there are unlimited workspaces, a search across all of them, one-click routines, thirteen themes, bookmark import and a desktop launcher that opens local apps, files and folders through an optional companion app.

Teams of roughly 10 to 100 people without a managed browser or an intranet: whoever handles IT, team leads who want links out of chat, people who run onboarding, support teams that start every shift from the same tabs, and agencies that keep one board per client. Also solo users who want a private, local-first start page. Free for personal use; CHF 25 a year for the person hosting a team board, nothing for collaborators.

Workspaces are stored locally and leave your machine only if you turn on sync or share a board. Synced and shared boards are encrypted in your browser before upload; the server stores data it cannot read. The extension has no ads and no analytics. Permissions: "storage" for your boards; "tabs" and the context menu entry to add the current page to a board; "bookmarks" to import them, read-only, your browser bookmarks are not changed; "search" so the new tab search box uses your own default search engine; "alarms" for background sync, board refresh and link health checks; "nativeMessaging" only talks to the optional companion app; "notifications" is requested only when you set a task reminder. Access to all sites exists for the Spotlight overlay you can open on any page and to read a page's title and icon when you add a link. No page content is collected or sent anywhere.
